What is this tool?
The Heat Pump Noise Calculator is a free online tool to calculate whether the noise from a heat pump or air conditioning unit meets the Dutch noise requirements of the Besluit bouwwerken leefomgeving (Bbl, formerly Building Decree 2012).
Using an interactive map, you can configure your property, buildings and outdoor unit position. The tool then calculates noise levels at the property boundary in real-time and shows whether you meet the legal requirements.
Based on
The calculation method is based on the WPAC-geluid V2020_0 tool, commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK).
The original tool is available as a spreadsheet on rijksoverheid.nl.
